What is the Body Journal?
This blog is an extension of my studio — a quiet place to reflect, question, and return to the body. You’ll find no hacks here. Just the long, slow work of care.
I write from my life as a massage therapist, a reader, a student of body philosophies, and someone continually learning how to be with herself. The entries below move between personal stories, soft teachings, seasonal rituals, and shared truths from the massage table. They’re grouped into living categories, not boxes — loose threads that might help you find what you need:
- Massage & the Nervous System
Grounded writing about therapeutic touch, rest, regulation, and the stories our tension holds. - Mental Health & Soft Body Stories
Posts about depression, grief, body image, and the emotional layers of healing. Some are just for members — so we can be a little more honest. - Nourished Eating & Ayurveda
Gentle recipes, Ayurvedic rhythms, and thoughts on feeding ourselves without punishment or perfectionism. - Movement & Stillness
Ten-minute practices, body-based meditations, and writing on how we move to find quiet — not to escape ourselves. - Books & Body Philosophies
Essays on the books that inform my work, and reflections on how different cultures, thinkers, and healers have understood the body. - Client Stories & Table-side Reflections
Shared with care and consent. Glimpses into what changes when we’re witnessed, held, and allowed to arrive fully. - Local Notes
Bits of Boise — favorite places, small joys, and where embodiment meets the everyday.
You’re welcome to move slowly through these pages. To read and return. To take what you need and leave the rest.
